Dear Crystal,
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your Packaging Your Portfolio workshop this past Sunday. It was informative, inspiring, and motivating. I now feel that I have all of the tools and information that I need to be a successful fashion stylist. You presented everything in such a clear and concise manner.
I am in the process of having my comp cards printed out and will be hitting all of the New York agencies upon their completion. I would love to keep you updated on my progress and would welcome any feedback that you may have. Again, on behalf of myself and all of the other artists that you continue to inspire, thank you! You and your cause are one of a kind!
Sincerely,

Amanda Nugent

Dear Crystal,
I had to write you and let you know what an impact your seminar, book, knowledge and positive influence has had on my career and life.

I have to start by saying thank you!
Most make-up artists don’t realize when they decide to get into this industry that it is a business.
Thank you for being the one to let us in on that little secret.

I wish the make-up schools had a business program to educate their students on the things they don’t even realize are crucial to their success.

I can’t thank you enough for everything I learned from you in only one day.

From writing thank you notes to using blue ink to represent sincerity. I was in your April 4th seminar and by April 7th I was getting work and booked my first paid job!

Don’t be surprised if one day you pick up the phone and it’s me on the other end asking you to represent me because there is no one I respect more!

Thanks again!

Hi Crystal,
Wow, the class was AMAZING. I learned so much in one day.

I love the way you were so personable with each one of us as if you’ve known us for so long.
I read your book twice and loved it. It’s funny because I noticed the class the 2nd time I read it.
I called and the price was right (the class is worth a million.

Well, it’s been two weeks after class and I am on fire about my future!

Thanks so much.

Sincerely,

Nicole Lovett

Hi Crystal:

This is Brittney Keller from the workshop at Empire yesterday. (I was the one moving to England, with the short blonde hair.) Anyway, I wanted to send you a quick note to again say thanks a lot for all of the information you shared with us.
....After the workshop last night I had to go to Barnes and Noble, and when I was there I noticed a girl that had the perfect look for a test shoot...you know when you just have a feeling that someone would be great for what you're working on?

Well, like that. Anyway, I ran down the sidewalk after her to get her information, and I'll be starting test shoots in the near future. I couldn't help but think that there was no way I would have even talked to her had I not just come from your class.
....Well, thanks again and I'll talk to you in the near future.

....Sincerely,

Brittney Keller/Makeup Artist

Hi Crystal,

The seminar is very helpful for everyone in the business, whether they are a hair stylist, fashion stylist, make-up artist, or photographer. First, everyone needs help learning their role in this business in order to have a better working relationship with each other.

I think this is the number one reason to attend the seminar. Second, the networking is terrific. I met more people in the business at the seminar than I have during the entire last year. And since there were only two photographers there, my pockets became full of phone numbers of artists willing to help me with my test shoot.

Third, a great deal of helpful information was given about portfolios. I learned how to prepare the portfolio, the layout, style, etc. and where and how to send it to agencies. In addition, I loved that you had guest speakers, like Bonnie Holland, who is a wonderful photographer, and an agent who represents artists.

We were able to have a variety of questions answered by the diverse panel of speakers. I learned numerous little things that are important pieces of information.
Although this seminar was designed for make-up artist and hair and fashion stylist, it was also very informative for the photographers.

Dear Crystal,
I just attended your class in San Francisco on “Building Your Portfolio.” I cannot tell you how much I learned! I have found it so difficult to find information on where to find photographers and the process of acquiring an agent. The business can be rather competitive, and people rather un-giving.

I came right home and called my mother to tell her all about you! It seems to me you are just as much a public speaker as you are an agent. I loved your idea of calling a person nine times before you can be upset that they have not called back! You really showed me that I need to buck up. But more importantly, your class assured me that this is the path I want to take!

Who knew all these years my mother, a former actress and model was right every time she told me to write a “Thank You” card to a person I have barely met. So I thought I would take your advice, and my mothers’ and thank you so much! If you have not figured it out by now you will be hearing from me! Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Casey Salm

Ms. Wright,
Thank you so much for the class at the MAC Pro Store in San Francisco last night. It was absolutely wonderful.

You were full of information and you made the time fly by. Honestly, I never attended a class at the MAC Store that was so much fun. You helped me figure out how to use the degree I am pursuing at San Jose State University. I am pursuing advertising with a focus in management. I didn't realize there are so many parallels between promoting a product and promoting talent.

You are such an inspiration to me as a woman also. I will contact you in the future for more information on internships.

Thank you so much for your time.

Sincerely,

Tina Fontenot

Thank you so much, Crystal for your exuberent uplifting and extemely informative class. I hope to further my success by my own efforts from the knowledge gained.

.... I really would like to know, besides talent, what gives one the attention and admiration that your "stars" have? I have to admit, that though I have been extremely persistent and driven, I'm not sure if you are aware of my huge efforts in furthering my career. I'm sure you do for I have proven to be pretty diligent about keeping in touch (you do receive my emails, or no?).

.... I would like to know how I, too, can be considered for work referrals as you give to Corina and your other "stars". I would only prove to be a huge asset as well and make you proud.

Thank you for everything.

Subject: Thank you and question from Toronto

Crystal, I just got home tonight from your MAC master class on building a portfolio.

You certainly are one-of-a-kind and deserve all the success you've had...and more. You have such raw talent for dynamic speaking and engaging a group with absolutely valuable information. Not a minute of listening was wasted.

You maximized every second of that seminar--MAC should be so lucky to have others like you come and do their stuff. You need to know what a difference you make to artists and their motivation.

You went to great effort to make available the books of top artists and to truly take us through visually why they are a success. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely,

Colette

Good morning,

I'm known as Sisylia Robinson. I attended your seminar in the year of 2000 at the age of 20. That day I experienced more than pleasure meeting a women with such dynamics as yourself. It was a sensational to meet someone flowing with intelligence, courage, confidence and beauty.
.....
You reminded me of the women I'm striving to be.
.....Originally from the Northern California, I recently relocated to southern California to focus on my artistry. After attending your seminars I took makeup courses and attended cosmetolgy school. While at school one afternoon I called your office because the perfection of hair was interfering with my sanity. I therefore concluded that it was not for me. I spoke for a brief but encouraging moment with you and your assistant and you both advised that I stick it out. As a result, I graduated December 2001, from Ms. Marty's School of Cosmetolgy. Thank You
.....I know that I will be a wonderful asset to whomever I do business with but I've had to learn patience while waitng for opportunity. My recent accomplishment was becoming an artist for MAC Cosmetics after pursuing positions with the company for one year.
.....Though I've read your book several times I am open to any additional advice you may have. My passion isn't limited to makeup, I love writing as well. To sum it all up, I'm enthused about volunteering my time and service in any area you may find a need. I look forward to meeting with you in the near future. I can be contacted at Sisylia
.

Crystal,

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, for such a wonderful class! I am still high after 3 days. I have been doing hair for over 20 years and 15 of those years I have dreamed of doing hair for editorials, magazines and TV commercials.
....Nowhere have I been able to find out how to enter this elite field until I met you! Needless to say, I am ecstatic that everything has been demystified.

1. I loved the seminar for several reasons:
2. The space was lovely.
3. The class was the perfect size.
4. The handout was very detailed and exact.
5. You were very informative, interesting, personal and funny!
6. There were lots of examples of current books.
7. Nice lunch provided.
8. Great panel for questions & answers.

I am also very impressed with the book. And as a magazine junkie, I can say that your magazine is stylish and seriously filled with current and insider information about the industry.
....Thank you, Crystal for you wealth of information. I have got some pretty high goals and now I can see a fun journey and a bright light at the end of the tunnel.
.....I look forward to working with you in the future. . .

Sincerely,

Thank you for the class in New York on "Building Your Portfolio". For the first time I know what I need to do, how to do it and why I'm doing this!
.....If I hadn't been fortunate enough to meet you, I would still be chasing my tail. By next year my book will be full of good quality pictures! I do appreciate your honesty. You don't get that from everybody in this business.

Hello Mrs. Wright,

I wanted to e-mail you to tell you thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come to Miami to teach the class, "Building Your Portfolio". Hi Crystal:

Hope you had an enjoyable flight back home. I was concerned on Sunday morning that your flight might be delayed due to the big snowfall we had, but when I checked the hotel you had already left.

We are all still flying high from your presentation on Saturday. It was absolutely wonderful. You are such an inspiration. Your gift to us was sharing this valuable information. Our gift to you is to use it.

Have a super day and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,
